PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shigeru Miyamoto (ranked 24832 p4p, 169 weight class) and Pero Kostolomac (ranked 24474 p4p, 313 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shigeru Miyamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pero Kostolomac!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kostolomac just misses with a punch to the body.
Kostolomac misses with a wild combination.
Kostolomac throws a combination that misses
and Miyamoto counters with a left and a right that stings Kostolomac.
Miyamoto definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Miyamoto takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Miyamoto throws a right hand that Kostolomac ducks under and follows up with a left that Kostolomac also avoids with ease.
Kostolomac misses with a takedown
and Miyamoto counters with a stiff right hand.
Miyamoto throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kostolomac's head.
Miyamoto moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kostolomac has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Pero Kostolomac has been cut.
Miyamoto misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kostolomac is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Miyamoto with a body shot.

Kostolomac steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Miyamoto. That one must have hurt.
Kostolomac looks winded!

Kostolomac manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Miyamoto on his heels. He'll look to pass Miyamoto's guard now, I'm sure.

Miyamoto pushes Kostolomac off and gets back to his feet.
That kick from Miyamoto tenderised Kostolomac's leg. Kostolomac is trying to keep his angry face on.
A combination from Miyamoto does no damage.
Miyamoto misses with a double jab.
Miyamoto feints a jab promting Kostolomac to slip. Miyamoto then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kostolomac slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miyamoto turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Miyamoto lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kostolomac circles away quickly and effectively.
Kostolomac shapes to counter with a head kick.
Miyamoto dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Miyamoto lands with a good body shot.
Kostolomac avoids a punch combination nicely.
Miyamoto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Miyamoto. Kostolomac shrugs it off though.
Miyamoto bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kostolomac's head backwards.
Miyamoto moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Miyamoto lands with a big left! Kostolomac is wobbled badly! Miyamoto comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Kostolomac to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
