Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Mazur (ranked 9394 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Lock (ranked 25475 p4p, 0 weight class). Piotr Mazur has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Piotr Mazur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Lock!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lock stuffs the takedown.
Lock now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Mazur fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lock avoids it really well and circles away.
Lock is looking for the big counter here.
Lock throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mazur's waist but Mazur gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lock off to one side.
Mazur tries to clinch but Lock is having none of it.
Lock unleashes a big counter combination but Mazur bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Mazur leaves Lock with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lock decides to pull guard.

Mazur avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lock bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mazur's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lock sitting in guard here, content to control.
Mazur trying to control the position.
Lock is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mazur is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lock showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Lock postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lock passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Lock stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Lock drives through and clinches with Mazur against the cage.
Mazur is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lock is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Piotr Mazur. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lock is leaning against Mazur and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Lock drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mazur gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Mazur prevents Lock from breaking the clinch.

Lock has Mazur pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mazur manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mazur won't allow Lock to get back to his feet.
Lock is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Mazur working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lock looking to control.
Mazur wants to stand and escape but instead Lock has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Lock stands and steps away. Mazur gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mazur shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lock but Lock pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lock dives in and grabs Mazur's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mazur pushes down on Lock's head and hops out.

Lock tries for a takedown but Mazur sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mazur tries to avoid it but Lock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mazur to the ground. Mazur escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lock scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Piotr Mazur has been cut.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mazur or perhaps it was just good defense by Lock, which made it look bad.
Lock looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mazur is fending him off so far but Lock persists. Nope, Mazur circles away and we're back to standing.
Lock shoots in but no luck this time.
Sloppy strikes from Lock. Those never looked like landing.
Lock takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Lock has Mazur up against the cage in a clinch.
Lock lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Mazur.

Lock digs a right hand underneath Mazur's ribcage. Mazur let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Lock leaning against his opponent.
Lock wants a takedown.

Lock jumps guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mazur looking to pass the guard.

Lock has his foot on Mazur's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mazur works his way back into a safe position though.
Mazur chips away with some ground and pound.
Mazur prevents Lock from getting back to his feet.
Lock is controlling Mazur's posture.

Let's hope that Lock has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lock is on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lock throws an elbow that misses. Mazur uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lock's guard. Nice move by Mazur!

Ryan Lock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lock escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lock has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mazur uses from the top position.
Mazur has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Lock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mazur doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mazur manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lock seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Lock is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mazur shoots in looking for a takedown but Lock manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mazur's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lock tries to sprawl but Mazur drives through with a takedown into half guard.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Lock is pressed up against the cage. Mazur has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lock down to the mat. Lock avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lock shoots for a takedown but Mazur saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mazur changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Lock thuds a left hand into Mazur's body.
Mazur keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ryan Lock is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Mazur fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ryan Lock comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
