Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Serge Spectre (ranked 147 p4p, 22 weight class) and Volya Nikolaev (ranked 202 p4p, 26 weight class). Spectre comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Nikolaev has chosen Fever as his entrance music. Serge Spectre could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Volya Nikolaev's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolaev dodges the punch combination from Spectre.
Spectre throws out a loose jab but Nikolaev uses good head movement to avoid it.
Spectre throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Spectre throws a leg kick that is checked
and Nikolaev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nikolaev takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nikolaev moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Spectre fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Nikolaev checks it well.
Nikolaev lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've been hearing reports that Spectre has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Nikolaev is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Spectre.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A jab from Nikolaev finds it's way through Spectre's defenses.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nikolaev has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Spectre attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Nikolaev tries to free his leg and advance position but Spectre is retaining full guard.
Nikolaev stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Spectre has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Nikolaev manages to get his head free but now Spectre has transitioned to an armbar! Nikolaev grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Spectre! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Serge Spectre was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
