Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manu Ahonen (ranked 2072 p4p, 320 weight class) and Chinggis Khaan (ranked 2474 p4p, 380 weight class). Ahonen comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chinggis Khaan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Ahonen catches Khaan right on the button with a cross.
Khaan scores with a head kick.
Ahonen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
It seemed like Khaan was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Ahonen gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Khaan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Khaan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ahonen's elbow.
Ahonen misses with a short punch on the inside.
Khaan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ahonen prevents it.
Ahonen throws a head punch that misses.
Khaan pushes off an throws an elbow but Ahonen leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Ahonen misses with some punches.
Khaan fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Khaan lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Ahonen takes a shot to the head.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Khaan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Khaan lands a good knee to the midsection. Ahonen won't want to take too many of those.
Ahonen misses with the head strike.

Ahonen breaks from the clinch.
Khaan works the jab nicely.
A solid leg kick lands there for Ahonen.
Ahonen throws a nice looking combination but Khaan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Khaan darts in and clinches Ahonen up against the cage.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Khaan.
Khaan wants a takedown.
Ahonen has a couple of punches blocked by Khaan.

Ahonen struggles to land a body shot inside as Khaan controls his hands.

Ahonen breaks from the clinch.
Khaan looks to throw the jab but Ahonen is out of range.
Ahonen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Khaan.
Khaan lands an overhand right.
Ahonen throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Khaan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ahonen counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Khaan is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Manu Ahonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chinggis Khaan.

Khaan gets a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Khaan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ahonen smiles and moves away.
Ahonen staying out of range there.
Ahonen was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ahonen misses with a hook. Khaan ducked under it nicely.
Ahonen leaves Khaan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Khaan tries to clinch up but Ahonen circles away and keeps his distance.
Ahonen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Khaan's hands.
Ahonen scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ahonen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Khaan or perhaps it was just good defense by Ahonen, which made it look bad.
Ahonen swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Chinggis Khaan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ahonen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ahonen lands with a right hand.
Ahonen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Khaan. Khaan obviously looking to wear him down.
Ahonen scoring well with a low kick there.
Ahonen fakes the leg kick and cracks Khaan in the body.

Khaan moves into the clinch.
Ahonen's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Ahonen lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Khaan or not.
Ahonen gets underhooks to prevent Khaan's takedown attempt.
Ahonen misses with the head strike.

Khaan is rocked!

Ahonen breaks from the clinch.
Khaan is still on wobbly legs! Can Ahonen finish him?
Ahonen lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Khaan falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ahonen dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Manu Ahonen!
In his post fight interview, Manu Ahonen started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
