Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 6652 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor Jenkins (ranked 5378 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Connor Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins shoots in looking for a takedown. Velasquez tries to sprawl out of it but Jenkins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Velasquez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Velasquez scores with a takedown into Jenkins's guard.
Velasquez is looking to work some ground and pound but Jenkins has wrist control.
Jenkins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jenkins enables Velasquez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jenkins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jenkins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Velasquez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jenkins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Velasquez pinned against the cage. Velasquez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cain Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor Jenkins.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jenkins lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Jenkins shoots in looking for a takedown. Velasquez tries to sprawl out of it but Jenkins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Velasquez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jenkins lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Velasquez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jenkins pinned against the cage. Jenkins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cain Velasquez will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Velasquez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jenkins connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Connor Jenkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
