The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acid throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Uncle Acid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Acid uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mendes.
Mendes throws a left and a right that both miss
and Acid counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Augusto Mendes has been cut.
Mendes throws a jab when Acid was well out of range.
Acid misses with a left hand
enabling Mendes to counter with a crisp jab.
A big left from Mendes misses.
Acid lands a jab to the nose.
Acid lands with a right hand.
Acid throws a good cross that connects.

Mendes is rocked!
Acid has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Acid lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Mendes up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Acid from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Mendes's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
