PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ulrich Stahlhammer (ranked 5473 p4p, 599 weight class) and Johnnny Begood (ranked 3026 p4p, 358 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stahlhammer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Begood but Begood pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Begood misses with a body shot.
Stahlhammer changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Stahlhammer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Begood as he jumps to the side.
A nice side step and Begood releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Begood cracks Stahlhammer with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Stahlhammer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Begood swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ulrich Stahlhammer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Begood swings away with a body shot that misses
and Stahlhammer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stahlhammer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Begood's guard.
Begood has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Play House. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Stahlhammer lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Stahlhammer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Begood's guard.

Stahlhammer wants to work for an arm triangle but Begood is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
