Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michio Kaku (ranked 7523 p4p, 771 weight class) and John Skywalker (ranked 23342 p4p, 864 weight class). Kaku comes to the cage accompanied by We will rock you. Michio Kaku has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michio Kaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Skywalker!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skywalker circles away from the clinch attempt.
Skywalker throws a shot from downtown. Kaku moves away and avoids it.
Kaku throws a sloppy head kick and Skywalker moves out of range easily.
A nice side step and Skywalker releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Kaku closes the distance looking to clinch
and Skywalker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Skywalker misses with a looping right.
Kaku shoots and misses
and Skywalker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kaku tries for a takedown but Skywalker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Skywalker working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Kaku tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Skywalker smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michio Kaku. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Skywalker let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Skywalker throws a big shot that misses.
Skywalker thuds his right hand into Kaku's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kaku throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Skywalker.
Michio Kaku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skywalker punishes Kaku's body with a nice straight punch.

and Skywalker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The fighters circling - Skywalker throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Skywalker throws a body punch but Kaku moves out of range.
Kaku has been working on his balance at Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Skywalker.

and Skywalker counters with a left to the body.

Kaku clinches.
Skywalker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kaku backwards.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kaku wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kaku tries to land knees in the clinch but Skywalker avoids the damage to the body.
Skywalker has Kaku pushed against the cage.
Kaku trying to stall but Skywalker improves his position.
Skywalker lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kaku backwards.
Skywalker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kaku.
Kaku tries for a takedown but Skywalker manages to get underhooks.

Kaku is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Skywalker lands a body punch in the clinch.
Kaku is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Skywalker to keep the fight standing.
Kaku is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Skywalker is defending well.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Kaku wants to break free but Skywalker has control.
Skywalker tries to work over Kaku's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Skywalker lands a nice shot to the body.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A body shot lands from Skywalker.
Skywalker is working Kaku over against the cage.
Kaku trying to control the position but instead, Skywalker has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kaku into the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Skywalker.
Kaku is trying to maintain a safe position but Skywalker gets an underhook and turns Kaku into the cage.
Skywalker has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Kaku seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Skywalker can turn it around.
Kaku wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Skywalker is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Skywalker lands with a short shot to the head.
Skywalker pushes Kaku back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Skywalker dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Skywalker swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michio Kaku. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kaku avoids the body shot from Skywalker.
Kaku went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Nice takedown defense from Skywalker. No joy for Kaku on that attempt.

and Skywalker counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Skywalker lands a head shot.
Skywalker stuns Kaku with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Kaku scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kaku wants to lay and pray for a moment but Skywalker keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kaku tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kaku has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kaku creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Skywalker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Skywalker takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Kaku has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kaku has hold of Skywalker's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Skywalker seems comfortable defending it but Kaku has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Skywalker is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Skywalker is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kaku couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Michio Kaku!
Michio Kaku decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
