Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quick Joe!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forty looks to clinch

and Joe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Forty's guard.
Joe's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Let's hope that Joe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Forty tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Joe has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like Joe might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Joe is looking to control Forty's arms but Forty gets an underhook and turns him. Now Joe has his back to the cage.

Forty tries to land knees in the clinch but Joe avoids the damage to the body.
Forty throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Joe blocks it with crossed arms.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Forty throws an elbow but it misses.
Forty with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Joe is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Forty is keeping busy.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Joe blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Joe takes an elbow to the temple.
Joe is trying to maintain a safe position but Forty gets an underhook and turns Joe into the cage.

A little jabbing left from Joe on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
One Forty is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Joe steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Forty.
Forty looks to clinch

and Joe counters with a shoot takedown. Forty fights it but they end up in guard.

Joe takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Joe passes to side control.

Forty tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

One Forty dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Forty tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Joe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Joe blocks a head kick by Forty.
Forty misses with a leg kick

and Joe counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Forty is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Joe dives into side control.

The referee asks Joe politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Joe prefers to stall for the moment though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Forty bucks up and tries to throw Joe off but instead Joe has got his back!

Joe is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Forty really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well, with Joe on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Forty is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Forty rolls, trying to escape but Joe keeps control of the position.
Forty has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
I would not like to be Forty right now.
Quick Joe has got the better of the ground game so far.

Forty trying to get back to his feet but Joe is in full control for now.
Joe has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Joe controlling the position well here. Forty rolled but Joe kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Joe has the hooks in. Forty is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Joe really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Forty.
Joe is hanging on to Forty's back as he tries to escape.
Forty is trying to stand back up.

Joe is riding his opponent, not letting Forty buck him off.

Quick Joe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Joe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
