Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Merlin Mykchur!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clay gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Mykchur bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clay's guard.


Clay is working an open guard so Mykchur takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mykchur shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clay pinned against the cage. Clay gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mykchur goes for a double leg but Clay avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Clay continues to drive forward.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Mykchur manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Mykchur. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Clay is looking for a sweep. Mykchur is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mykchur is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Mykchur looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mykchur is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Clay is just riding it out for now. Mykchur eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Merlin Mykchur showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Clay throws an elbow that misses. Mykchur uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Clay's guard. Nice move by Mykchur!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mykchur slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Clay wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mykchur.
Mykchur takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Clay is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Merlin Mykchur comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mykchur has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
