Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Buck Futter (ranked 1011 p4p, 51 weight class) and Barack Obama (ranked 1264 p4p, 59 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buck Futter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barack Obama!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Obama.
Futter bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
A big right from Futter misses.
Obama is looking for the big counter here.
Obama uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Futter.

Obama fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Futter sprawls well initially but Obama persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Obama is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Futter defends it well.
Futter is trying to get back to full guard.
Futter has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Obama wants to free his trapped foot but Futter is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Obama passes to side control.
Futter can't do much from the bottom here.

Futter is looking to reverse the position.
Futter is working hard here to advance position.
Futter is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Obama's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Obama pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Futter is keeping the position for now.
Obama seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Obama looking to sit in guard and control but Futter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Futter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Obama is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Futter defends well.

Futter sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Obama is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Obama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Obama looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Futter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Futter working some strikes from top position.
Futter stopping the sweep attempt from Obama.

Obama is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Futter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Obama looking for a sweep. Not yet Obama, not yet.
Obama is trying to keep Futter in close.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Futter forces his way into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Obama taking some punishment here, with Futter in his half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Buck Futter will probably get the nod.

Futter shoots in for a double leg but Obama sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Obama ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Futter gets tackled into the cage by Obama. Obama maintains the clinch.

Futter tightens his grip and picks Obama up, before dumping him to the ground. Obama manages to land in guard.

Obama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Futter looking to sit in guard and control but Obama gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Obama drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Futter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Obama has Futter in his guard.

Futter wants to pass the guard but Obama is keeping the position.
Futter postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Futter trying to control the position from guard on top but Obama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Futter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Obama can do to turn this around?

Obama tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Futter wants to control from the top but Obama keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Futter's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Obama can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Futter controls the pace.

Obama had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Futter defends it easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Obama looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Futter puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Obama manages to get to full guard.

That's time! Futter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Futter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Obama sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Futter cracks Obama with a right hand to the side of the head.
Futter pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Obama connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

A jab from Futter misses.
Futter misses with a lunging right hand
and Obama makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Obama moves into the clinch.
Futter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Obama just stands there and leans against the cage.
Obama lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Futter backwards.
Futter fails to pull guard.
A short right from Obama.
A head punch on the inside from Obama fails to land.
Obama misses with a body punch.
Futter blocking some punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Obama digs a right hand underneath Futter's ribcage. Futter let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Futter turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Obama tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Futter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Futter is looking to take a break and control but Obama is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Futter working away.
Obama takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Obama is letting Futter control him for a moment.
Futter landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Futter laying and praying for a moment but Obama takes advantage and regains half guard.
Buck Futter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Obama manages to get to full guard.
Futter wants to control from the top but Obama keeps moving.
Buck Futter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Futter controls from within his opponent's guard.
Futter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Obama for as long as he can get away with.
Obama controls Futter momentarily but Futter frees himself.
Obama tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Futter not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Futter works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Futter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Obama knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Futter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Futter is keen to just control but Obama is a slippery customer.
Futter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Futter prevents Obama from improving his position.
Futter is pressing down on Obama's thigh, looking to free his foot. Obama is holding on for now.
Still in half guard, Futter seems content to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Futter is looking to take a break and control but Obama is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Futter shoots in and drives through. Obama sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buck Futter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Futter throws a lazy right hand but Obama sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Futter misses the target.
Obama swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Obama wants to clinch.
Obama with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Futter to score with a decent uppercut.
Futter throws the left hand but Obama avoids the punch easily.
Obama throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Obama throws a head kick that misses

and Futter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Futter stalling.
Barack Obama has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Obama tries to roll over but Futter keeps him under control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Buck Futter showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Futter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
