The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Best shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Best prevents Perkins from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perkins is pressing down on Best's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Best avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Best preventing the sweep.
Perkins managing to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perkins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Best is controlling him.

Perkins is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Perkins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Best is aware though and is defending well.
Best throws an elbow that misses. Perkins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Best's guard. Nice move by Perkins!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Best tries to clinch up.

Best manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Perkins on his heels. He'll look to pass Perkins's guard now, I'm sure.
Jerrod Best overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Best throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Perkins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Best works over Perkins with some ground and pound from guard.
Perkins controlling the position.
Perkins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Perkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Best can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Best lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Perkins lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Best has his foot on Perkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Perkins works his way back into a safe position though.

Best is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Best is trying to keep Perkins in close.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Best shoots in for a takedown but Perkins shows good takedown defense.
Best shoots in looking for a takedown. Perkins tries to sprawl out of it but Best keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perkins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jerrod Best will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Perkins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Perkins lands a big shot there that rocks Best but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Perkins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Perkins has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Perkins is continuing to stall.

Oh Best is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Perkins breaks from Best's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Best is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Perkins working for a guillotine from mount but Best is in no mood to give up.
A big strike lands for Perkins! That's really hurt Best and he's turned his back - Perkins keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Perkins jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
