Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Norbert Gilbert (ranked 8975 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Gori (ranked 6473 p4p, 655 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gori changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Gori throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Gori throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gilbert is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Gori.

Gori throws a body shot but no joy.
Gori throws a right hand that Gilbert ducks under and follows up with a left that Gilbert also avoids with ease.

Vlad Gori seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gori ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gilbert moves away.

Gori fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gilbert changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Gori scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Gilbert shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gori napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gori wants to get back to his feet but Gilbert is dominant here and he's now got Gori's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gori is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gilbert gets his way!

Gilbert has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gori has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
