PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dougie Logan (ranked 3907 p4p, 348 weight class) and Fubar Teller (ranked 1516 p4p, 166 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dougie Logan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dougie Logan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dougie Logan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fubar Teller!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Logan finds it's way through Teller's defenses.
Logan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Logan. That's going to slow Teller down.
Teller tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Logan defends well and Teller ends up having to push Logan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Logan lands a leg kick that knocks Teller off balance momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Logan. Teller does a little dance to reset his feet.
Logan connects with an inside leg kick.
Logan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Teller has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Logan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A clash of legs there as Logan blocks the low kick.
Logan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Teller misses with a hook. Logan ducked under it nicely.
Logan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Teller doesn't seem bothered though.

Logan closes the distance and clinches.
Logan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Teller wants to take the fight to the mat but Logan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Logan throws a punch but it's blocked by Teller.
Teller throws a head punch that misses.

Logan softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Teller can't find room to land a body shot as Logan controls the action.

Logan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Logan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Teller changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Logan has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hazzard County Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Teller shoots in for a takedown but Logan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dougie Logan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fubar Teller.
Logan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Teller.
Logan tries to score with a low kick but Teller moves his leg out of the way.
Logan just misses with a punch to the body.
Teller takes one to the side of the head.
Logan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Teller keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Teller doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Dougie Logan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Logan tries to clinch but Teller moves out of range.
Logan is looking to wear down Teller with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Teller closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Teller is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Teller tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Teller doesn't manage to clinch there - Logan circles away.
Logan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Teller bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Logan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Logan holds on and takes a little breather.

Teller pushing down on Logan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Teller thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Logan's head.

Logan makes his way to full guard, as Teller worked for a kimura.
Teller sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Teller throws an elbow that misses. Logan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Teller's guard. Nice move by Logan!

Teller is trying to control the position but Logan postures up.

Teller looking for subs off his back but Logan has passed one foot through into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Logan prevents Teller from improving his position.
Logan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Teller makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Teller.
Logan postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dougie Logan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Teller throws a series of punches but Logan avoids them all with ease.
Logan throws a leg kick but Teller sees it coming and moves out of range.
Teller feints the counter takedown.
Logan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Teller's head.
Logan catches Teller with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Logan lands the left hand.
Logan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Teller can do to turn this around?
Logan throws an overhand right that lands on Teller's shoulder, as Teller tries to avoid the shot.
Logan looks to throw the jab but Teller is out of range.
Logan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Logan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Teller.
Logan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Teller checks it well.
Teller swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Logan here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Logan throws a leg kick that misses.
Teller shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Logan but Logan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Logan throws a hook to the side of Teller's head but Teller sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Logan tries to clinch but Teller is having none of it.

Teller misses with a takedown
and Logan counters with a nice body shot.
Logan misses with a head kick.
Teller checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Teller was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Logan swings for the body but Teller moves out of range.
Logan defending well as Teller loads up on a big left hand.
Teller ducks under a wild hook from Logan.
Good leg kick by Logan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Teller throws a right and a left that both miss.
It looked like Logan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Teller takes one to the side of the head.
Logan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Teller moves away.
Logan scores with a nice right hand.
Horrible takedown attempt by Teller or perhaps it was just good defense by Logan, which made it look bad.
Dougie Logan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fubar Teller.
Teller on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dougie Logan is winning the standup battle so far.

Logan scores with a nice strike.
Logan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Teller only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Logan cracks the inside of Teller's front leg.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Logan lands with a straight right. Teller didn't see that one coming.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Logan, right into the meat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Teller.

Logan moves into range and clinches up with Teller.
Logan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Logan lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Logan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Logan lands a left hand that snaps the head of Teller backwards.
Logan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A short body shot lands from Teller as the two fighters clinch.
Logan can't find room to land a body shot as Teller controls the action.

Logan breaks from the clinch.

Teller shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Logan napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Teller in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Logan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Teller seems to be looking for submissions.
Teller is looking to take a break and control but Logan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Teller scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Logan won't allow Teller to pass to mount.
Teller winds up and cracks Logan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Teller looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Teller thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dougie Logan dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Logan throws a hook but Teller avoids it easily.
Teller looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Logan with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Good exchange - Logan coming out on top.
Logan throws a body shot but no joy.
As Logan backs off Teller throws a huge counter combo but Logan manages to avoid it all.
Logan tries to land a leg kick but Teller saw it coming and moves away.
Logan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Teller.
Logan closes the distance but Teller moves to the side

and Teller counters with a shoot takedown. Logan fights it but they end up in guard.
Teller works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Logan is trying to control but can't.
Logan is trying is best to control the position here.
Teller wants to pass to mount but Logan is defending the position.
Logan gets full guard.
Teller is looking to work some ground and pound but Logan has wrist control.
Teller pushes down on Logan's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Teller performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Logan wants to control but Teller is keeping busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Teller is stalling here. Logan is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Teller seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Logan has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Teller looking for a sweep but Logan has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Logan prevents Teller from getting the reversal.
Teller holds on for dear life, controlling Logan's posture momentarily.
Teller really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Fubar Teller has got the better of the ground game so far.

Logan controlling his opponent.
Teller is trying to escape the mount.
Dougie Logan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Logan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Logan tries to control but Teller wriggling away.
Teller tries to hold on but Logan pushes him away.
Teller is desperately trying to improve his position but Logan has a good base and remains in mount.
Logan looking to control but Teller is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fubar Teller has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Logan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Teller bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dougie Logan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Logan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
