The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Persecutioned lands with a cross.
Persecutioned throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Al-Khaldi was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Al-Khaldi throws a nice looking combination but Persecutioned bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Al-Khaldi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Persecutioned takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Al-Khaldi lands a big head kick that sends Persecutioned tumbling to the mat! Al-Khaldi takes a step backwards and waves Persecutioned back to his feet - he wants the finish!

We've been hearing reports that Persecutioned has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Persecutioned shoots in looking for a takedown. Al-Khaldi tries to sprawl out of it but Persecutioned keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Al-Khaldi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Al-Khaldi appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Persecutioned, as that shot connected.
No joy there for Persecutioned, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Al-Khaldi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Persecutioned has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Johny Persecutioned seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Persecutioned throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Al-Khaldi.
Al-Khaldi connects with a solid leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Al-Khaldi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Persecutioned stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Persecutioned rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Al-Khaldi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Al-Khaldi dances in with a quick combination. Persecutioned is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Al-Khaldi snaps Persecutioned's head back. Persecutioned stumbles backwards against the cage. Al-Khaldi steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Persecutioned's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Persecutioned just didn't come prepared.
