PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Vale (ranked 1561 p4p, 183 weight class) and Brody Battle (ranked 1257 p4p, 144 weight class). Vale comes to the cage accompanied by Motorhead-Iron Fist . Battle has chosen Pantera - Shedding Skin as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Vale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brody Battle!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battle looks to score with a jab to the body but Vale is just out of range.
Battle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vale has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Battle throws a solid leg kick but Vale takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Battle.
Vale throws a good cross that connects.
Vale throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Battle stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Simon Vale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Battle moves forwards but Vale connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Vale tries to score a power double leg takedown but Battle sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vale somewhat.
Battle's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vale connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Battle scrambles back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A little jabbing left from Battle on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Vale fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Brody Battle's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
