Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sven Hensen (ranked 697 p4p, 75 weight class) and David Von Erich (ranked 1609 p4p, 190 weight class). Hensen's entrance music is Soul Coughing - Super Bon Bon. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Von Erich's choice of entrance music: La Grange. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

It looks like Sven Hensen has been cut.
Hensen shoots in but no luck this time.
Hensen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Von Erich has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hensen is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Hensen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Von Erich gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hensen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Von Erich's guard.

Hensen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Von Erich wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Von Erich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hensen drops back looking for a leg! Von Erich is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Von Erich manages to kick Hensen off! Hensen jumps back into Von Erich's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Von Erich manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Von Erich swings away with an uppercut that misses.

A nice left hand lands by Hensen.
Von Erich tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hensen's elbow.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Hensen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

and Hensen counters with a good low kick that Von Erich was not able to check.

Hensen will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Von Erich misses with a takedown attempt - Hensen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Von Erich throws a body punch but Hensen moves out of range.
Von Erich throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hensen changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Hensen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Von Erich sizes up Hensen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

and Hensen counters with a body kick that stops Von Erich in his tracks momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Von Erich throws a hook but Hensen avoids it easily.
Hensen thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Von Erich if he has to take too many more of those.

Hensen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Von Erich. That did some damage!

Von Erich jabs Hensen to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Hensen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Hensen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Von Erich looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Von Erich dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Von Erich. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Von Erich shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hensen as he avoids it easily.
Hensen bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Von Erich looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hensen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Von Erich, who protects the arm well.

Hensen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hensen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hensen lands a big left to the face of Von Erich, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Hensen and another - Von Erich is out! Hensen stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.
