Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Henderson (ranked 6517 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel King (ranked 25675 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Samuel King!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King shoots in but Henderson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Henderson scores with a takedown into King's guard.
King is looking to stand back up but Henderson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by King.

Henderson is trying to control the action in half guard but King is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Henderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but King keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth.

Henderson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

King dives in and grabs Henderson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Henderson pushes down on King's head and hops out.

Henderson stands up and beckons King to join him on the feet.
Henderson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
King is looking for the big counter here.
King goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Daniel Henderson has been cut.

Henderson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Henderson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

King sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Henderson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Henderson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Henderson will probably get the nod.

As King looks to move away, Henderson throws a big counter combo but King just gets out of the way.
King tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Henderson shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense.
King takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Henderson wants to clinch up but King keeps it at a distance.
King steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Henderson.

Henderson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! King has his hands clasped together but Henderson extends and breaks King's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Henderson.
