Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Makunouchi (ranked 8353 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Barnaby (ranked 5556 p4p, 0 weight class). Makunouchi comes to the cage accompanied by はじめのいぽのうた. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Makunouchi drives through and clinches with Barnaby against the cage.
Barnaby tries to pull guard but Makunouchi won't allow it.
Barnaby content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Barnaby's coach down at 10th Planet Islanders was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Barnaby's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Makunouchi working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Barnaby tries to pull guard but Makunouchi holds him up against the cage and eventually Barnaby drops back down to his feet.
Barnaby jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Makunouchi walks away with a smile on his face. Barnaby gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ippo Makunouchi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Barnaby.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makunouchi walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Barnaby drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Makunouchi swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Barnaby's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
