Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ernest Goldenberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Piero Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goldenberg darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Goldenberg wants to stand up but Stevens has a hold of him and won't allow it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Stevens wants to improve his position but Goldenberg is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevens looks like he's trying to stand up.

Stevens tries to roll over but Goldenberg keeps him under control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Stevens wants to control but Goldenberg is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Stevens throws out a loose jab but Goldenberg uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stevens looks to throw the jab but Goldenberg is out of range.
Goldenberg swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Goldenberg shoots for a double leg takedown but Stevens sprawls well. He's pushed Goldenberg's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Stevens goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Ernest Goldenberg has been cut.

Goldenberg fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stevens avoids it really well and circles away.

Stevens throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Stevens lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stevens lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Goldenberg circles away quickly and effectively.
Stevens lands a two punch combo.
Piero Stevens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stevens throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Goldenberg.
Stevens thows a left - swing and a miss!

Stevens throws a one two combo.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Goldenberg.
Goldenberg is breathing heavily.
Goldenberg dodges the punch combination from Stevens.
A combination from Stevens does no damage.
Stevens throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Goldenberg misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stevens ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Goldenberg moves away.
Goldenberg slips a jab from Stevens.
Goldenberg shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stevens pinned against the cage. Stevens gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Stevens scores with a body shot.
Stevens throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Stevens stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stevens wants it to stay on the feet.

Goldenberg gets a takedown into half guard.

Stevens has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Goldenberg is on him like a limpet, forcing Stevens back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stevens can't break the clinch.
Stevens blocks a punch to the side of the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Goldenberg.
Stevens tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Goldenberg has a couple of punches blocked by Stevens.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stevens lands a left and a right that send Goldenberg crashing to the mat, dazed. Stevens thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Goldenberg is rocked!

Goldenberg displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stevens throws out the jab.
Goldenberg is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Stevens just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Goldenberg has gone limp and this one is over!
