Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Lukaszewicz (ranked 4207 p4p, 527 weight class) and Luca Conti (ranked 4561 p4p, 556 weight class). Lukaszewicz comes to the cage accompanied by Alter Bridge - Show me a leader. Robert Lukaszewicz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Robert Lukaszewicz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Luca Conti!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Lukaszewicz coming out on top.
Lukaszewicz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Conti sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Conti dodges the punch combination from Lukaszewicz.
Conti has a takedown stuffed.
Lukaszewicz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Conti.
Conti connects with a body shot.
Conti closes the distance and clinches up with Lukaszewicz, looking for a takedown. Conti pushes Lukaszewicz against the cage but Lukaszewicz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It looked like Lukaszewicz was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Conti.
We've been told by Lukaszewicz's head coaches at St Petersburg MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

It looks like Robert Lukaszewicz has been cut.

Conti wants the takedown. Lukaszewicz is fighting it off but Conti persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lukaszewicz's guard against the cage.
Conti is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Conti working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Conti tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Conti has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lukaszewicz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Conti lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Conti has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
