Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jiri Sayonara (ranked 205 p4p, 11 weight class) and Christian Edge (ranked 237 p4p, 14 weight class). Sayonara's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Edge Of The Blade. Edge is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: For Heavy Metal we will die!. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jiri Sayonara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christian Edge!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edge tries a low kick but Sayonara avoids it.
A little feinted left hand from Sayonara on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Edge throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Edge throws a solid leg kick but Sayonara takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Edge.
Sayonara throws a right hand that misses
and Edge counters with a straight right hand.
Sayonara misses with a hook. Edge ducked under it nicely.
Edge uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sayonara.
Sayonara backing away here, and Edge unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Sayonara takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Sayonara is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Edge.

Edge closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Edge thows a huge punch but Sayonara dodges it nicely.

Sayonara with the active half guard here but Edge passes nicely into side control.
Sayonara manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sayonara wants to improve his position but Edge is controlling well.
Sayonara has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Edge is working away from the top position though.
Sayonara manages to get to full guard.
Sayonara is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Edge is not content to let Sayonara control the position.
Sayonara is just content to waste time from the top position. Edge takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Edge is on top in guard.

Edge is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sayonara bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Edge's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Sayonara's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Edge wants to control but Sayonara passes easily into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sayonara looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Edge has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Sayonara. Oh but Edge has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Sayonara goes limp - he's gone! Edge jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
