Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitri Zaitsev (ranked 275 p4p, 30 weight class) and Tank Shamrock (ranked 407 p4p, 46 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dmitri Zaitsev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tank Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Tank Shamrock has been cut.
Zaitsev has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD Gym of the Gods in the buildup to the fight.
Zaitsev throws a solid leg kick but Shamrock takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Zaitsev.
Shamrock looks to score with a jab to the body but Zaitsev is just out of range.
Shamrock scores with a jab to the jaw.
Shamrock jabs Zaitsev right on the nose. Zaitsev blinks but takes it well.
Shamrock dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
No joy there for Shamrock, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zaitsev throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shamrock tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Zaitsev misses with a hook. Shamrock ducked under it nicely.
Zaitsev cracks Shamrock with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Zaitsev blocks a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zaitsev scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Zaitsev bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shamrock's head.
Zaitsev slips a straight right by Shamrock.
Zaitsev throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shamrock.
Zaitsev staying out of range there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shamrock takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


That has opened up Tank Shamrock's cut even more.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shamrock. Zaitsev does a little dance to reset his feet.
Zaitsev slips a jab from Shamrock.
Zaitsev on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Zaitsev moves into range and connects with a jab.
Shamrock missing with a left hand there. Zaitsev was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Tank Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shamrock wants to clinch

and Zaitsev counters with a series of strikes that sends Shamrock to the canvas! Zaitsev follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Shamrock bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zaitsev's guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zaitsev tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Shamrock seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Zaitsev keeping moving, preventing Shamrock from controlling successfully.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Zaitsev looking for a sweep. Not yet Zaitsev, not yet.

Zaitsev controls Shamrock momentarily but Shamrock frees himself.
Zaitsev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shamrock is one step ahead there.
Zaitsev is working hard here to advance position.
Shamrock trying to control the position from guard on top but Zaitsev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shamrock misses with a body punch
and Zaitsev counters with a nice uppercut.
Shamrock looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Shamrock closes the distance and pushes Zaitsev back into the cage.
Zaitsev controlling the action here for a moment.
Shamrock fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Shamrock has a couple of punches blocked by Zaitsev.

Zaitsev's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tank Shamrock will probably get the nod.

Zaitsev tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shamrock swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zaitsev uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shamrock.

enabling Zaitsev to counter with a crisp jab.
Zaitsev misses with a body shot.
Shamrock throws out a counter right but Zaitsev avoids it with no problem.
Zaitsev takes a swing at Shamrock's ribcage but misses.
Zaitsev lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


The cut above Tank Shamrock's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Shamrock throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zaitsev uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shamrock.
Shamrock misses with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shamrock moves into range and connects with a jab.
Shamrock works Zaitsev's body with a nice hook.
Zaitsev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shamrock.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Zaitsev jabs Shamrock right on the nose. Shamrock blinks but takes it well.
Shamrock digs a good body shot into Zaitsev's ribs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A slow jab from Shamrock misses its intended target.
Zaitsev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shamrock.
Zaitsev cracks Shamrock with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


Tank Shamrock's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Shamrock is looking to clinch.
Zaitsev appears to be looking for a big counter.
Zaitsev avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Shamrock throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shamrock shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tank Shamrock's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dmitri Zaitsev!
Dmitri Zaitsev decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
