Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Randall (ranked 25304 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Mendez (ranked 6125 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Randall might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Promentory . Mendez has chosen Trap Door as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 39 - 0, fighting out of London, Tiago Mendez!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, William Gold and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez leaves Randall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mendez closes the distance and clinches.

Mendez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Randall shoots in looking for a takedown. Mendez tries to sprawl out of it but Randall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mendez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mendez tries to counter by closing the distance.

Mendez moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Randall wants to break free but Mendez has control.
Mendez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Randall has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mendez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Randall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mendez keeps control of Randall as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mendez wants a takedown.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Mendez gets control of Randall's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mendez will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Our spies down at at London MMA Club inform us that Mendez has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Mendez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Randall defends it easily.
Mendez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mendez stands and steps away. Randall gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Randall.
Mendez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Randall circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Randall.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mendez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Randall avoids it really well and circles away.

Mendez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Still in half guard, Mendez seems content to control.
Randall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendez on the ground.
Mendez prevents Randall from standing back up.
Mendez throwing shots but Randall is blocking nicely.
Mendez thows a huge punch but Randall dodges it nicely.

Mendez decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Randall fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mendez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Randall defends well and Mendez ends up having to push Randall into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Mendez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mendez.
Randall is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mendez is controlling him.

Mendez passes Randall's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Mendez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Mendez seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Randall is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
