The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Dante Gael Roman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harris takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Roman throws a hook but Harris avoids it easily.
Roman lands the left hand.
Harris takes one to the chin there.

Harris looks to land a body kick but Roman moved away.
Roman scores with a crisp jab that stopped Harris in his tracks.

Roman drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harris looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harris looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harris!

Harris is looking to take a break and control but Roman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Roman wants to control but Harris postures up.
Roman tries to bench press Harris off him but Harris keeps the position.
Harris lands some shots froms side control.
Harris is looking to take a break and control but Roman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Roman gets back to half guard.

Roman is looking for a sweep. Harris is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Harris seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Roman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Roman lands with an uppercut that bounces Harris off the cage and back into range.

Roman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Harris throws a counter combo.

Harris shoots in and bounces Roman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Harris lands a couple of digs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Harris shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Roman's guard.

Roman uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Roman lands with a straight right. Harris didn't see that one coming.
Harris stuffs the takedown attempt from Roman. Roman gets slowly back to his feet.
And Harris tries to counter it with a takedown but Roman pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Harris shoots in and gets a takedown into Roman's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Harris looking to sit in guard and control but Roman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harris can do anything to dispel that myth.
Roman is working Harris over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Roman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Harris's head.
Harris can't keep his opponent in guard - Roman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Harris is bucking up trying to escape but Roman cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Roman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Harris's face.
