Keita comes to the cage accompanied by Secka - Pointure . Hamza Keita could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jimmie Connor's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hamza Keita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmie Connor!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor closes the distance and clinches up with Keita, looking for a takedown. Connor pushes Keita against the cage but Keita circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Keita fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Connor tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Connor takes the fight into the clinch.
Keita is trying to force a seperation but Connor has the dominant position.

Connor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Keita feints and as Connor raises his hands in defense, Keita changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Connor scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Connor tries to land a front kick but Keita steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Keita shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Keita fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hamza Keita. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Connor walks into a left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Keita misses the target.
Keita tries to close the distance and clinch up but Connor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Connor is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Connor stuffs the takedown.
Connor walks into a stiff left hand from Keita.

Keita closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Connor did well to prevent Keita getting side control.

Keita is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Connor defends it well.
Connor is looking to control Keita's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Connor avoid being mounted?
Keita wants to lay and pray for a moment but Connor keeps working.

Connor throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Keita working over Connor with some ground and pound. Connor looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Keita is trying to control. Connor wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Keita is working for a kimura but Connor is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Keita tries to pass to full mount but Connor defends it.
Connor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Connor wants to control but Keita is keeping busy.
Keita wants to lay and pray for a moment but Connor keeps working.

Keita seems to be working for a kimura but Connor defends the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Connor can do anything to dispel that myth.

Keita wants to work for an arm triangle but Connor is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Keita missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Keita is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Connor has managed to free his arm - good work.

Connor is refusing to be controlled, as Keita sits in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Connor is looking to get back to is feet but Keita passes into side control.

Keita is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Connor knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Connor wants to counter with a clinch but Keita pushes him away.
Keita shoots in for a double leg but Connor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Keita shoots in for a takedown but Connor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Connor is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Keita looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Connor is fending him off so far but Keita persists. Nope, Connor circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hamza Keita. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Connor darts in looking for a takedown but Keita gets double underhooks and turns Connor into the cage.
Keita will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Keita decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Keita seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Connor is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
