Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Refugio Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Bart Greer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez shoots in for a takedown but Sharp shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sharp looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Velasquez with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Velasquez closes the distance and clinches.
Sharp pushes off an throws an elbow but Velasquez leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Sharp throws an elbow but it's blocked.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Velasquez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sharp throws a left and a right that both miss

and Velasquez counters by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sharp misses with a punch to the body.
Velasquez lands a hook to the side of the head.
A frustrated look appears on Sharp's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Velasquez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sharp walks away with a smile on his face. Velasquez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Velasquez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sharp looking to stall.
Velasquez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sharp fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Al Sharp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Refugio Velasquez.

Velasquez closes the distance and pushes Sharp back into the cage.
Velasquez managing to block the knees to the body from Sharp.
Sharp is trying to push Velasquez away but Velasquez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Velasquez breaks the clinch.
Sharp tries to clinch up.
Velasquez jabs Sharp right on the nose. Sharp blinks but takes it well.

Velasquez instigates a clinch.
Velasquez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sharp pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sharp tries to clinch but Velasquez moves away
and Velasquez counters with a right hand to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sharp swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Velasquez counters with a head kick that wobbles Sharp - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Velasquez sends him down. This one is all over!
