PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lincoln Hawk (ranked 3859 p4p, 188 weight class) and Hillary Trump (ranked 1533 p4p, 69 weight class). Hawk comes to the cage accompanied by Winner Takes It All. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hillary Trump!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Trump's waist but Trump gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hawk off to one side.
Trump looks to land a left hand but Hawk moved out of range nicely.
Nice defenses there by Hawk.
Nice uppercut lands for Trump. That snapped Hawk's head back.
Trump swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Hawk shoots in and gets a takedown into Trump's guard.

Trump has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hawk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Trump has his foot on Hawk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hawk works his way back into a safe position though.

Trump working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hawk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hawk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hawk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trump swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hawk goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Trump has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hawk but great work by Trump.
Trump postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Trump is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Trump looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hawk is avoiding damage well.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Trump working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Trump controls the position from side control.
Hawk tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Trump wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hawk is trying to control Trump's posture but Trump avoids it.

Trump is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hawk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawk on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hawk is looking for a sweep.
Trump has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Trump is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hawk's shoulder. That is not cool.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Trump lands with a straight right. Hawk didn't see that one coming.
Trump misses with a jab, cross combination.
Trump moves out of range of the strikes.
Hawk ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hawk misses with a takedown attempt - Trump sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hawk misses with a wild body shot.
Trump misses with a straight left.
Trump misses the jab.
Hawk attempts a counter takedown but Trump avoids it well and moves away.

Hawk shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trump avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hawk looks to score with a jab to the body but Trump is just out of range.
Trump throws out a counter right but Hawk avoids it with no problem.
Trump scores with the left hand. Hawk knows he should have avoided that one.

Trump wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Trump might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Hawk takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Trump works Hawk's body with a nice hook.
Hawk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Trump swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Trump throws a body punch but Hawk moves out of range.
Trump slips a jab and a cross from Hawk.
Trump scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hawk scores with a shot to the body.
Trump scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Trump cracks Hawk with a right hand to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oh Hawk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Trump connects with a right that clearly hurt Hawk. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Trump proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Hawk collapses and taps out under the pressure!
