Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rory Green (ranked 9511 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shlomo Goldberg (ranked 4430 p4p, 0 weight class). Goldberg has chosen Oy vei as his entrance music. Shlomo Goldberg has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rory Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shlomo Goldberg!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green falls off balance throwing a combination
and Goldberg counters with a stiff right hand.
Green swings for the body but Goldberg moves out of range.
Rory Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goldberg will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Green.
Green pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green throws a body kick that misses
and Goldberg counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Green throws a sloppy head kick and Goldberg moves out of range easily.
It seemed like Goldberg was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Goldberg lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Green shoots in but no luck this time.
A countering left hand to the body from Goldberg misses.
Green is breathing heavily.
Green pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Goldberg pushes Green up against the cage in a clinch.
Green is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Goldberg is defending well for now.

Goldberg has Green pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Goldberg pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Green tumbling to the mat - Goldberg dives into Green's guard.
Green will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Goldberg controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Goldberg passes into half guard.

Goldberg is working for a submission of some sort.
Green looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Green is defending against the submission attempts here by Goldberg.

Goldberg is looking for a kimura but Green is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Goldberg to get the leverage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Goldberg is trying to work for a kimura but Green is defending well.
Goldberg is controlling the pace.

Goldberg is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Goldberg tries to pass the half guard into mount. Green knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Goldberg is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Goldberg is trying to control the action in half guard but Green is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Goldberg is looking to advance position but Green won't allow it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Goldberg lands a nice short elbow.
Well, if Goldberg is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Goldberg seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Green is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Shlomo Goldberg!
Shlomo Goldberg decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
