The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Phol. Mancini does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mancini feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Phols jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

It looks like King Phol has been cut.
Mancini throws a body punch but Phol moves out of range.
Phol connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mancini momentarily.
Mancini fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Phol looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Mancini looks to score with a jab to the body but Phol is just out of range.
Phol throws a lazy uppercut
and Mancini counters with a left to the body.
Phol uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mancini.
Mancini avoids the body shot from Phol.
Phol misses with a looping right.
Mancini was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Mancini looks to score with a jab to the body but Phol is just out of range.

Mancini tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Phol paws at him with a jab and circles away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Some bone on bone action there as Phol checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Mancini tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mancini with the counter takedown but Phol avoids it easily.
Mancini is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Phol.
Mancini is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Mancini feints and as Phol raises his hands in defense, Mancini changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mancini with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mancini has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Phol is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

King Phol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Phol is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

and Phol counters with a big right hand! Oh Mancini is in trouble here! Phol follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
