Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jet James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis Rampage!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rampage shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rampage won't allow James to get back to his feet.
James tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rampage controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Let's hope that Rampage has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
James looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rampage is one step ahead there.
James is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Arvins Bootcamp that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Rampage trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rampage stands and steps away. James gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big left from James misses.
Rampage shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense.
James misses with a hook
and Rampage counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Rampage slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rampage throws a big right hand that misses.
Rampage with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rampage is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rampage drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rampage jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rampage's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Rampage stops James from standing up.
Rampage is stalling in the full guard.
Rampage wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.
James utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
James can't keep his opponent in guard - Rampage advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
James wants to get back to his feet.
Rampage is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! James is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
