Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roman Richards (ranked 4701 p4p, 527 weight class) and Tev Clark (ranked 6209 p4p, 625 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Richards closes the distance and clinches.
Richards unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Clark is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Richards has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Clark clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Clark rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Clark can do anything to dispel that myth.

Richards throws a strike but Clark rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Richards gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

and Clark counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Clark throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Richards on the side of the head.

The crowd cheers as Clark lands an impressive looking overhand right. Richards doesn't seem phased though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Richards tries to close the distance and clinch but Clark swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Richards is rocked!
Clark circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Richards to the canvas! Richards doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Clark keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Tev Clark was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
