Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miguel Garces!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garces works over Valdez's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Michale Valdez has been cut.

Garces drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Garces accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Garces had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Valdez defends it easily.

Garces isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Valdez stacks Garces on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Valdez!

Garces is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Valdez is aware though and is defending well.

Garces throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Valdez escapes and throws Garces's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Valdez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Garces is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Garces escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valdez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
