Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Brox !
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brox has closed the distance and engaged Gill in a clinch.
Brox looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Gill has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Brox prevents Gill from breaking the clinch.
Gill is trying to force a seperation but Brox has the dominant position.
Brox keeps control of Gill as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Gill closes the distance and clinches.
Brox 's coach down at Cozad MMA New York was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Brox 's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Gill escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brox misses with an uppercut.
Gill went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Brox closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gill tries to roll over but Brox keeps him under control.

Brox won't allow Gill to sweep him here.
Gill bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brox 's guard.

Gill connects with a couple of short punches.

Gill thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gill postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Gill chips away with some ground and pound.

Gill stands up and waves to Brox to follow him.

Brox gets caught flat footed, as Gill shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gill lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Gill postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Gill keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brox 's head.
Gill lands a couple of elbows.
Gill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gill scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Gill with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Brox trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Gill keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brox 's head.
Gill content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gill is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Gill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gill decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Brox , up you get!

Gill manages to break the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gill.
Gill looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gill has taken the fight to the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Brox clinches with his opponent.

Gill escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brox pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Gill shoots in and bounces Brox off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gill's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Brox is breathing heavily.

Gill lands a couple of digs.
Gill works over Brox with some ground and pound from guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gill gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Gill tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brox sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gill somewhat.

Gill shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brox manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gill lands a couple of digs.
Gill with a nice head shot there.
Gill forces his way into half guard.
Gill slips a nice elbow through Brox 's hands, connecting with Brox 's forehead.

Gill is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brox is just riding it out for now. Gill eventually gives up the hold.

Gill looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brox with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gill passes to full mount!
Gill cracks Brox with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Gill pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Gill prevents Brox from getting the reversal.
Gill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brox can do to turn this around?

Gill landing punches.

Gill working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Brox turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Gill off and cradles Brox 's limp body as Gill celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Lauren Gill!
