Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Long Wang (ranked 989 p4p, 111 weight class) and James Franklin (ranked 927 p4p, 103 weight class). Franklin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tron Cat- Tyler, The Creator kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang swings for the body but Franklin moves out of range.
Franklin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Wang with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Wang shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Franklin napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A control attempt from Franklin but he's now mounted!
Wang trying to control but Franklin is having none of it.
Franklin felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Wang can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Franklin is looking to escape.

Franklin is trying desperately to improve position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wang postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Franklin looks a forlorn figure.

Franklin is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Wang has latched onto it... Big trouble! Wang pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Franklin is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Wang!
