And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bill Newton!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton shoots in and drives through. Hoffman sprawls well.

Hoffman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Hoffman goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Newton rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hoffman 's guard! Nice work there by Newton!
Hoffman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hoffman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Newton defends well.

Hoffman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Newton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Newton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Newton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hoffman seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Newton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hoffman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Newton has managed to get both his arms back between Hoffman 's legs - danger averted.

Oh but Hoffman is tightening it up a little... Newton has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Newton reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Newton taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hoffman !
