PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vasili Komaroff (ranked 754 p4p, 74 weight class) and Li Kong Ho (ranked 2232 p4p, 237 weight class). Li Kong Ho told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vasili Komaroff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Li Kong Ho!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ho ducks under a wild hook from Komaroff.
Ho throws out a counter right but Komaroff avoids it with no problem.
Nice body punch from Komaroff.
Ho misses the jab.
Komaroff attempts a counter takedown but Ho avoids it well and moves away.
Ho closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Komaroff misses with a kick to the body.
Komaroff looks to throw the jab but Ho is out of range.
Komaroff pushes Ho away with a front kick.
Ho swinging wildly here.
Komaroff misses with a hook.
Ho thows a left - swing and a miss!
Komaroff throws a looping overhand right but Ho ducks down to avoid it.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ho.
Ho stuns Komaroff with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Komaroff takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ho fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Komaroff manages to avoid it.

Komaroff shoots in for a takedown but Ho shows good takedown defense.
Komaroff steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ho.
Komaroff throws a leg kick which misses Ho's front leg but catches the back leg as Ho tries to avoid it.
Ho takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Komaroff fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ho has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Komaroff shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ho but Ho pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Li Kong Ho is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ho throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ho connects with an inside leg kick.

Ho throws a low kick, looking for Komaroff's leg but Komaroff calmly moves out of range.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Komaroff not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Komaroff is pressing down on Ho's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ho is holding on for now.
Ho has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Komaroff is working away from the top position though.
Komaroff drops an elbow to the side of Ho's head.
Ho has hold of Komaroff's hands but Komaroff slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Komaroff thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ho's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ho lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ho is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Vasili Komaroff took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'IM THE FUCKING CHAMPION! GIVE ME ANYBODY AND I WILL KILL THEM LIKE I JUST KILLED GAULTIER'.
