Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Njord Norden (ranked 5086 p4p, 588 weight class) and Darryl Rose (ranked 3800 p4p, 475 weight class). Norden comes into the arena with Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise blaring out of the sound system. Rose has chosen Mobb Deep - Shook ones as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Norden.
Rose swinging wildly here.
A big left from Rose misses.
Njord Norden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rose uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Norden.
Norden looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rose unleashes a big counter combination but Norden bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Norden moves into the clinch successfully.
Rose is trying to push Norden away but Norden has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rose changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Norden lands with a nice body punch.

Rose throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Norden seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Norden throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rose.
Rose with the counter takedown but Norden avoids it easily.
Norden throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Rose lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Norden throws a hook to the side of Rose's head but Rose sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rose has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Norden.
Norden wants to clinch.

Norden stalks Rose and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rose's face. Rose staggers backwards, shaken.
Norden is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Norden throws a nice inside leg kick.
Norden misses with a two punch combination.
Norden feints and then cracks Rose's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rose down.
Norden moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Norden lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Norden closes the distance but Rose moves to the side

and Rose counters with a single leg into guard. Norden didn't expect that.
Rose stops Norden from standing up.

Norden has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rose has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Rose is working for takedown but Norden is calmly controlling the position for now.

Norden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Norden catches Rose with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Norden throws a nice head kick!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rose swats away the attempt to clinch by Norden.

Norden connects with an inside leg kick.
A good leg kick by Norden.

Norden moves into the clinch.
Norden lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rose backwards.

Norden manages to break the clinch.
Norden walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Norden throws a nice inside leg kick.
Norden slaps away a takedown attempt from Rose, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Norden scores with a nice strike.

Rose is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Norden's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Norden pounces like a tiger and cracks Rose with a vicious hook! Rose is down but not out! Norden follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
