Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scuba Chris (ranked 2181 p4p, 231 weight class) and I Hate Work (ranked 3085 p4p, 300 weight class). Scuba Chris could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to I Hate Work's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Chris.
Work takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Work bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Work swings away with a body shot that misses
and Chris connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chris looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Good exchange - Chris coming out on top.
Chris slips under a jab from Work.
Chris seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Work throws an overhand right that lands on Chris's shoulder, as Chris tries to avoid the shot.
Work shoots in but Chris avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Work takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Chris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Work circles away quickly and effectively.

Chris fails to land with a series of punches.
Work throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A counter left hand to the body from Chris misses its target.

A little jabbing left from Work on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Work jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The fight stays on the outside here - Work looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Chris counters with a right hand to the body.

Chris seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Scuba Chris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of I Hate Work.
Chris throws a shot from downtown. Work moves away and avoids it.
Chris throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Work misses with a straight right.
Chris was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Work throws a one two combo.
Work feints a jab promting Chris to slip. Work then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Chris slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Chris throws a hook but Work blocks it.
Scuba Chris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chris uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Work.

and Chris connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Work moves away from the strike by Chris.
Work fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chris has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Chris connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chris is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Work displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chris throws out the jab.
Work uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chris.
Chris fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Work will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Chris lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Work at a distance.
Work fails to land with a series of punches.

Chris has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
I Hate Work seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Work lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Chris backs up against the cage.

The fighters circle momentarily. Chris darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Chris uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sloppy strikes from Work. Those never looked like landing.
Chris lunges at Work with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Work's hand.
Scuba Chris is winning the standup battle so far.
A nice combination there by Chris.

Work is rocked!
Chris batters Work with a massive right followed by a huge left! Work is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Chris lands a final crushing right hand to drop Work to the mat with a gruesome thud! Chris is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
