The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sturridge takes the fight into the clinch.
Allen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Sturridge lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Barry Allen has been cut.
Sturridge lands a left hand that snaps the head of Allen backwards.
Sturridge lands a good knee to the midsection. Allen won't want to take too many of those.
Allen wants to take the fight to the mat but Sturridge manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Sturridge escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Allen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sturridge bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Allen's head.
Sturridge defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Allen.

Allen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sturridge's waist but Sturridge gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Allen off to one side.
Nice uppercut lands for Sturridge. That snapped Allen's head back.
Isaiah Sturridge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sturridge is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Allen is breathing heavily.
Allen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sturridge finds it's way round the side to connect with Allen's head.

Allen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sturridge manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sturridge throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Allen on the side of the head.
Sturridge has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Allen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sturridge lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Isaiah Sturridge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Allen shoots in and drives through. Sturridge sprawls well.
Sturridge scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Allen is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Allen walks straight into a right hand from Sturridge - that's dropped him! Sturridge jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Allen from any more punishment! Allen complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Isaiah Sturridge decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
