Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viesturs Kraulins (ranked 6538 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Killer (ranked 8121 p4p, 0 weight class). Ed Killer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Viesturs Kraulins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ed Killer!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kraulins shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Killer is trying to stand up here but Kraulins is controlling him well.
Killer is trying to maintain the position but Kraulins is very close to passing his half guard.
Kraulins slows the pace down in half guard.

Kraulins seems to be looking for submissions.

Kraulins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Killer sees it coming and defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Killer is trying to stand.

Kraulins is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Killer has managed to free his arm - good work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Kraulins is looking to take a break and control but Killer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Killer has hold of Kraulins's hands but Kraulins slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kraulins is keen to just control but Killer is a slippery customer.
Killer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kraulins looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kraulins passes Killer's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Kraulins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Killer is trying to maintain the position but Kraulins is very close to passing his half guard.
Kraulins passes the guard and advances to mount!
Killer is desperately trying to improve his position but Kraulins has a good base and remains in mount.

Kraulins is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Killer to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Killer shrugs it off.

Kraulins is working for a guillotine from mount but Killer frees his head quite easily.

Killer slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Killer won't allow Kraulins to pass to mount.
Killer tries to get to full guard but Kraulins has control of the leg.
Killer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kraulins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Killer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kraulins is working away from the top position though.
Kraulins scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Killer wants to improve his position but Kraulins is controlling well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kraulins lands a nice short elbow.

Kraulins is looking to advance position but Killer won't allow it.

Kraulins lands with a punch from half guard.
Kraulins is taking a breather. Killer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Killer is trying to control but can't.
Killer is refusing to be controlled, as Kraulins sits in half guard.

Kraulins is working for a submission of some sort.
Kraulins moves nicely into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Killer is being controlled here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Viesturs Kraulins dominated that round.
That's time! Kraulins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Donk. Killer catches Kraulins right on the button with a cross.


It looks like Viesturs Kraulins has been cut.
Killer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Killer connects with a jab.
Killer throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Kraulins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Killer is trying to defend but Kraulins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Kraulins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kraulins tries to pass the half guard into mount. Killer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kraulins takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Killer is trying to stand up here but Kraulins is controlling him well.

Kraulins passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Killer!
Killer wants to control but Kraulins is having none of it.
Kraulins putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!


It looks like Ed Killer has been cut.

Kraulins is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Killer is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Killer flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kraulins anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Killer and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kraulins slips an arm under Killer chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kraulins has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kraulins is squeezing on Killer like an anaconda would it's prey. Killer fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Viesturs Kraulins!
