The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Straw Hat.
Perkins appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Straw Hat fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Straw Hat jabs at Perkins's body.
No joy there for Straw Hat, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Straw Hat tries to keep at a distance but Perkins has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perkins is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Perkins tries to break free but Straw Hat pushes him back against the cage.
Straw Hat is trying to drag Perkins to the mat but Perkins just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Perkins is trying to break the clinch but Straw Hat has him pressed against the cage.
Perkins wants to get back to striking at distance but Straw Hat won't allow it.

Straw Hat fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hector Perkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Monkey Straw Hat.

and Straw Hat counters with a crisp one two that drops Perkins! Straw Hat thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Perkins to his feet! Perkins is in big trouble!

Perkins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Straw Hat shoots in for a takedown but Perkins shows good takedown defense.
Oh Perkins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Straw Hat fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Perkins wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Perkins has taken the fight to the clinch.
Straw Hat pushes Perkins against the cage. Straw Hat is working some dirty boxing. Straw Hat pushes off with a quick right hook! Perkins goes down! Perkins tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Straw Hat moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
