And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 52 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sangram Singh!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Singh uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lapris.
Singh tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Singh moves away from the strike by Lapris.
Singh avoids the body shot from Lapris.

Singh clinches.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Lapris is looking for a takedown.
Lapris is trying to drag Singh to the mat but Singh just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Singh stops a takedown attempt from Lapris.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Lapris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lapris has Singh pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Singh manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Lapris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Singh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lapris.

Lapris shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Singh tries to get to full guard but Lapris has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Singh throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Singh is in trouble now - Lapris has advanced to mount!
Singh is trying to escape the mount.
Lapris connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Lapris prevents Singh from getting the reversal.
Lapris has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Singh manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Lapris is trying to control. Singh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Singh is defending against the submission attempts here by Lapris.

Singh manages to get to full guard.
Lapris trying to control but Singh is working from the bottom.

Singh is looking for a triangle but Lapris pushes his legs off easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lapris postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Lapris working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Singh has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Lapris doesn't defend quickly enough and Singh has managed to lock this one up! Can Lapris escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Singh on a fantastic submission victory.
