The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patterson clinches up against the cage.
Lester is pushing Patterson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Patterson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Patterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Patterson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lester is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Lester shoots in for a takedown but Patterson shows good takedown defense.
Patterson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Lester gets tackled into the cage by Patterson. Patterson maintains the clinch.
Patterson scores with a nice hook to the head.
Lester goes for a takedown in the clinch but Patterson prevents it.

Patterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lester darts in and clinches Patterson up against the cage.
Patterson throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
With the fighters up against the cage, Patterson throws an elbow but misses.
Lester can't get the takedown.

Lester has Patterson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Patterson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Lester tries to pull guard but Patterson won't allow it.

Patterson is pressed up against the cage. Lester has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Patterson down to the mat. Patterson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Patterson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Patterson duly obliges.
Patterson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Patterson forces Lester back against the cage and clinches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lester lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Lester with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Lester drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Lester seems to have locked his on tight now - Patterson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Lester, as he picks up the win!
