PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James McCall (ranked 6370 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Loser (ranked 5497 p4p, 641 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James McCall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johny Loser!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loser lands a really nice looking cross but McCall seems unphased.


It looks like James McCall has been cut.
Loser fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Loser wants to clinch up but McCall keeps it at a distance.
McCall drops down looking for a counter takedown but Loser sprawls and moves away.
Loser throws a hook but McCall blocks it.
McCall is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Loser swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McCall attempts a counter takedown but Loser avoids it well and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Loser closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McCall is looking to take this one to the mat.
McCall wants a takedown but no success here.
Loser slows down the pace here.
A shot in the inside from Loser.
McCall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Loser digs a right hand into McCall's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on McCall's gas tank.
Loser lands a hook to the side of the head.
McCall fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James McCall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Loser softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
McCall prevents a body shot from Loser.
Loser pushes McCall back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Loser dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

McCall pulls Loser into guard.
Loser is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Loser trying to control but McCall is working from the bottom.
McCall can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Loser controls the pace.

McCall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Loser stopping the sweep attempt from McCall.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Loser is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Loser is looking to clinch but McCall is avoiding it.
Loser rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McCall moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Loser scores with a jab. McCall acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Loser misses with a straight left.

Loser rushes McCall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Loser lands with a short shot to the head.
A hook to the body from Loser.
McCall is trying to drag Loser to the mat but Loser just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Loser lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of McCall backwards.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Loser lands a nice uppercut.
McCall drops down looking for an ankle pick but Loser pulls his leg out and moves away.

Loser pushes McCall up against the cage in a clinch.
McCall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Loser just stands there and leans against the cage.
McCall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Loser avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Loser lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Loser lands a left hand that snaps the head of McCall backwards.
McCall is trying to pull guard but Loser turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Loser controlling the action here for a moment.
McCall wants a takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johny Loser dominated that round.
The cut man is working on James McCall's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Loser lands a slapping body shot.
Loser fails in his attempt to clinch.
Loser bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McCall's head backwards.
Loser tries to close the distance and clinch but McCall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McCall drops down looking for a counter takedown but Loser sprawls and moves away.
Loser plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops McCall to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! McCall just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Johny Loser!
