Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roman Divac (ranked 1593 p4p, 215 weight class) and Frank Lamphard (ranked 2871 p4p, 357 weight class). Divac's entrance music is Nas- Do you hate me now. A fine choice. Roman Divac has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roman Divac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Lamphard!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Divac. Lamphard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lamphard tries to counter by closing the distance.
Divac misses with a right hand
and Lamphard counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Roman Divac has been cut.
Divac keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Lamphard looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Divac slips under a jab.
Divac swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Lamphard digs a good hook to Divac's body.
Frank Lamphard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Divac misses with a looping right.
Lamphard throws out a counter right but Divac avoids it with no problem.
Lamphard misses with an uppercut
and Divac cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lamphard lands a nice shot to the body.
Lamphard misses with a left hand
and Divac counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Divac lands a really nice looking cross but Lamphard seems unphased.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lamphard can't find room to land a body shot as Divac controls the action.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lamphard creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Divac manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Divac pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lamphard throws a poor cross that misses
and Divac connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Divac pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Lamphard back to the cage. Divac follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Divac counters with a straight right hand.
Lamphard is rocked!
Lamphard throws a lazy right hand but Divac sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Divac throws a nice looking combination but Lamphard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Divac lands a slapping body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Divac needs to keep his hands up - Lamphard had a free shot at his head there.
Lamphard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Divac swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Divac loads up on a big right hand but Lamphard slips the punch.

enabling Divac to counter with a crisp jab.
Lamphard ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Divac uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lamphard.
Divac misses with an uppercut. Lamphard saw that one coming.
Divac closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Lamphard fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Divac on the side of the head.
Lamphard ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Lamphard misses with a looping right.

and Divac counters with a stiff right hand.
Divac is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Lamphard misses with a straight left.
Lamphard tries to land a body kick
and Divac counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Divac counters with a beautiful punch that sends Lamphard to the canvas!
Lamphard is still in real trouble! Can Divac finish him?

Divac wants to control from the top but Lamphard keeps moving.
Lamphard has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Lamphard seems to have recovered his senses.
Divac has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Divac trying to move into half guard but instead Lamphard has managed to sweep!
Divac trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Lamphard is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Divac is looking to stand up but Lamphard isn't so interested in that idea.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Divac wants to control but Lamphard passes easily into half guard.
Divac wants to get back to his feet.
Lamphard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Divac is trying to maintain the position but Lamphard is very close to passing his half guard.
Lamphard slows the pace down in half guard.
Lamphard frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roman Divac dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Roman Divac's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Divac moves out of range of the strikes.
It looked like Divac wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Divac counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Divac takes one to the side of the head.
Lamphard looks to clinch
enabling Divac to counter with a crisp jab.
Lamphard misses with a shot to the body
and Divac counters with a crisp right that sends Lamphard to the canvas! Divac follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
