With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Marx Jr!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williamson slips a jab from Marx Jr.
Williamson scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like Mark Marx Jr has been cut.
Williamson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marx Jr defends it nicely.
Williamson misses with a series of wild punches.
Marx Jr swings for the body but Williamson moves out of range.
Marx Jr throws a shot from downtown. Williamson moves away and avoids it.
Williamson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Williamson connects with a body shot.
Williamson shoots in but no luck this time.
Marx Jr lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Marx Jr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Williamson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Williamson tries to buck Marx Jr off but Marx Jr is having none of it.

Williamson is refusing to be controlled, as Marx Jr sits in half guard.

Marx Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Williamson's head.
Williamson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Marx Jr drops an elbow to the side of Williamson's head.

Williamson is defending against the submission attempts here by Marx Jr.

Marx Jr seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williamson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Marx Jr prevents Williamson from standing back up.

Marx Jr is working for a kimura here but Williamson manages to reverse the position and he's now in Marx Jr's guard.

Williamson is really struggling to control Marx Jr but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Williamson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marx Jr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williamson has managed to get both his arms back between Marx Jr's legs - danger averted.
Williamson wants to control from the top but Marx Jr keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marx Jr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Williamson works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Williamson wants to take a breather but Marx Jr is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Marx Jr is trying to maintain the position but Williamson is very close to passing his half guard.
Williamson passes to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williamson looking to secure an arm triangle but Marx Jr defends it well.
Williamson looking to control but Marx Jr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Williamson seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Marx Jr is holding on tight.

Williamson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Marx Jr is surviving well by controlling Williamson's body position as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Glenn Williamson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Mark Marx Jr's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Williamson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Williamson showed some decent athleticism there.
Marx Jr is not content to let Williamson control the position.

Williamson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marx Jr is just riding it out for now. Williamson eventually gives up the hold.
Marx Jr wants to improve his position but Williamson is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williamson is working for a submission of some sort.

Williamson moves into full mount! Marx Jr won't be happy about that!
Marx Jr stops Williamson from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Marx Jr is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Marx Jr tries to lock up and control but Williamson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Marx Jr is trying to reverse the position but instead Williamson has taken his back - oops!
Williamson is hanging on to Marx Jr's back as he tries to escape.
Williamson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marx Jr can do to turn this around?

Williamson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Marx Jr! Can he survive? No! He's out! Williamson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
