Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iku Turso (ranked 2327 p4p, 320 weight class) and Igor Alkaev (ranked 2896 p4p, 379 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turso bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Turso throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Alkaev stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Turso moves into range and connects with a jab.
Alkaev blocks a jab.
Turso uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alkaev.
Alkaev has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Turso finds it's way round the side to connect with Alkaev's head.
Turso throws a nice outside leg kick.
Alkaev is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Turso.
Turso swings widly with a right hand
and Alkaev counters with a stiff right hand.
A nice inside leg kick there by Turso. That's going to slow Alkaev down.
Turso has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Seppo's Massage Temple in the buildup to the fight.
Iku Turso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turso keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alkaev works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Turso closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Alkaev on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Turso. Turso obviously looking to wear him down.

Turso cracks Alkaev with an open hand slap.

and Alkaev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Alkaev throws an off balance right hand
and Turso counters with a low kick, right behind Alkaev 's knee.
Alkaev moves away from the strike by Turso.

Turso lands a big head kick that sends Alkaev tumbling to the mat! Turso takes a step backwards and waves Alkaev back to his feet - he wants the finish!
