Aspire 86: Yew v Jones PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Aokison (ranked 795 p4p, 119 weight class) and Junkyard Dog (ranked 1071 p4p, 166 weight class). Junkyard Dog told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dog gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Aokison cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We've been hearing that Aokison has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Junkyard Dog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Aokison throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dog's waist but Dog gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aokison off to one side.

Junkyard Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dog lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Aokison has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Aokison and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
