Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fanta Coco (ranked 2039 p4p, 240 weight class) and Angel Soriano (ranked 8844 p4p, 713 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Soriano working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Soriano postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Soriano is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Soriano keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Coco's head.
Soriano slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Coco will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Coco looks to land a combination but Soriano avoids it well.

Coco throws a shot to the body.
Coco slaps away a takedown attempt from Soriano, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Coco lands a head shot.
Coco paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Coco lands a two punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Coco counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fanta Coco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angel Soriano.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Soriano is defended easily by Coco.
Coco cracks Soriano with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Soriano ducks right into an uppercut from Coco.
Soriano walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Soriano moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Coco steps into range and cracks Soriano with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Soriano flops backwards and Coco dives into his guard looking to finish!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soriano can do anything to dispel that myth.
Soriano is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Let's hope that Soriano has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coco uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Soriano has time to react.
Coco punishes Soriano's body with a nice straight punch.

Soriano shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Coco closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Soriano out cold! Soriano corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
